Gautam Karthik clarifies his comment on Rajini’s entry into politics
The actor says his statement had been quoted out of context
Actor Gautham Karthik has clarified that his statement on Superstar Rajinikanth’s possible entry into politics had been quoted out of context.
The young actor, who is busy promoting his upcoming film Ivan Thandiran, is believed to have said in Trichy that he was not for Rajini entering politics. Some media reports had also claimed that the actor had said that he would want Rajinikant to always be an actor and a Superstar and that he too did not wish to enter politics.
After his statement raised a few eyebrows, Gautam chose to release a video clip on his Twitter account clarifying his comment.
In the clip, Gautam says,”The controversy is because of a misconception. I was asked if I would support Rajini sir if he came to politics. What I had said was that I know nothing about politics. To me, Rajini sir is a Superstar. I only look at him that way. This is all that I said. They have quoted me out of context and written it in a different way.
“Please don’t bring me into politics. I am in no way connected to politics. I am here to make films and I love watching films. I love watching the Superstar in films,” he appealed.
