Jumanji, The Next level, to release in India on December 13

The next part of one of the world’s most loved franchises, Jumanji, is ready to hit screens!

For those who do not know about the franchise, this story was created by American author Chris Van Allsburg.

The franchise follows the adventures of a couple of people who find themselves trapped while playing a magic game that either unleashes dangerous elements into the real world or traps the players within itself!

Ultimately, the only way to end the disruptions is to finish the game while enduring its resulting dangers with each succeeding move.

Based on 2 books by Chris Van Allsburg, Jumanji (1981) and its sequel, Zathura (2002), 3 films – Jumanji (1995), Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) have already been made. All three films have proved to be money-spinners at the box-office!

An animated television series with the title, Jumanji, was also telecast between 1996 to 1999.

Now, the franchise owners have come up with the next part of the franchise called Jumanji: The Next Level.

Sources say that this fourth instalment of the franchise will see the four teenagers who survived the trials and adventures of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle reunited as they return home to Brantford, New Hampshire from their respective colleges for the holidays.

As college students, they are now trying to navigate the next level in their individual lives!

Unknown to his friends, Spencer (Alex Wolff) has kept the pieces of the Jumanji video game in the basement of his grandfather’s house.

When Spencer’s friends, Bethany (Madison Iseman), Fridge (Darius Blain), and Martha (Morgan Turner) arrive, they find Spencer missing and the game running. They decide to re-enter Jumanji to save him.

Spencer’s grandfather Eddie (Danny DeVito) and his friend Milo Walker (Danny Glover) hear the commotion and inadvertently get sucked into the game too before any of Spencer’s friends can select their avatars!

Shot at locations in Atlanta, New Mexico, Calgary, Fortress Mountain Resort and Hawaii, the film features Dwayne Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, an archaeologist and an explorer, Jack Black as a cartographer, cryptographer, archaeologist and paleontologist.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the film has music Henry Jackman. The film is all set to release in India on December 13, 2019.
