Producer, actor and former MP J K Ritheesh passes away!

Film stars, political leaders offer their condolences

In news that has left the entire state stunned, well known actor, producer and politician J K Ritheesh passed away in Ramanathapuram today after suffering a massive heart attack.

He was just 46.

He is survived by his wife Jyothi and three children – two sons and a daughter. While his sons are aged 11 and eight respectively, his daughter is not even a year old.

The actor-politician was busy campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Ramanathapuram when he complained of chest pain. He was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved.

Several leaders of political parties and film celebrities have expressed shock and grief at J K Ritheesh’s sudden demise.

In particular, actor R J Balaji, who had worked with J K Ritheesh in his recent superhit film LKG, said, “Shocked and devastated on hearing the news about the loss of JK Rithesh sir. Not able to believe. He was just 46. Gone too soon. He was like a brother to me and a blessing to the lives of many. He helped and changed so many lives. No words to describe the pain. I will miss you sir. You treated me like your own brother. Not got even a rupee to act in LKG. So much love, care and warmth. You were a great human being. God is so cruel to take you away from your beautiful family with three children. Feel terrible.”
