Hit: The Third Case

Nani, who has never played a cop before in his career, does a reasonably good job in this role too. Srinidhi Shetty is adorable as Rukmini/Mridhula. Mickey J Meyer’s music is a big plus as are Sanu John Varghese’s brilliant visuals.

Director Sailesh Kolanu comes up with a gripping investigative thriller that is as engaging as it is explosive.

The story begins with Arjun Sarkaar (Nani), who is with the elite investigative unit Hit, being sent to prison. A fellow inmate hands over a weapon to Arjun Sarkaar saying he will need it if he has to survive there. The inmate is curious as to why and how a police officer has been imprisoned. It is then that Arjun Sarkaar begins to explains what actually transpired…

The story shifts to the point when Arjun Sarkaar is handed charge of the HIT unit in Vishakhapatnam. He begins his stint with this unit by investigating a brutal murder that has happened. The victim, after having been hung upside down from a tree over a flowing river, has had his throat slit. Ironically, we get to learn in some time that it is Arjun Sarkaar who has actually committed the murder himself. Interestingly, the man doesn’t stop with one murder. He gets ready to repeat the crime. However, this time around, a junior officer under his command witnesses him committing the act. What happens then is what HIT: The Third case is all about.

The film is an explosive action entertainer, with several intense action sequences that have you on the edge of your seats. The beauty of it all is that it is not mindless violence. However, there is no denying the fact that one does get the impression that the bloodshed on screen could havebeen toned down a bit.

Although there is enough action and thrills, what makes Hit: The Third case stand out is the cute love story that’s been stitched around the characters of Arjun Sarkaar and his lady love Mridula played by Srinidhi Shetty. Their chemistry is evident and both actors complement each other perfectly well.

Nani, who has never played a cop before in his career, does a reasonably good job in this role too. Srinidhi Shetty is adorable as Rukmini/Mridhula. Mickey J Meyer’s music is a big plus as are Sanu John Varghese’s brilliant visuals.

In all, Hit: The Third Case manages to impress you. A good one time watch!
