Complaint against Vijay for hurting religious sentiments
The complaint has been filed in Madurai by a lawyer called Muthu Kumar
A lawyer in Madurai has reportedly filed a complaint against actor Vijay for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through the dialogues of his just-released film Mersal.
According to sources, the lawyer, Muthu Kumar, in a complaint to the Anna Nagar Police station in Madurai, claimed that the actor, in a scene in the film, was seen saying, ” We don’t need to build temples. We need to build hospitals.” This dialogue, the lawyer claimed, was hurting Hindu sentiments.
He also said that the actor had spoken against the Centre’s GST and claimed that the actor had levelled a series of lies in the film. For instance, the lawyer said Vijay claimed that Singapore offered free education and health care in the film. This, he said, wasn’t true.
The lawyer, therefore, demanded action not just against actor Vijay but also against several other members of the film unit in his complaint.
