While the film will release in Kannada later this month, it is to release in Tamil on the third of January next year.

The team of Avane Sriman Narayana recently held a press conference here in Chennai and journalists who arrived for the press meet were both amused and pleasantly surprised.

The reason? Well, each of the journalists who arrived for the press conference were presented with a kilo of onions as a gift by the film crew!

At a time when the country has been witnessing a surge in the prices of onions as a result of the shortage in onion supply, the move brought a smile to the faces of journalists.

Speaking at the event, the film’s hero, Rakshit Shetty, said,”A couple of months ago, a friend asked me why I wanted to release this film in Tamil. I knew the answer. I am from Udupi. When I was growing up, I used to watch all films -Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. Some of the films that influenced me the most were director K Balachander sir’s films. K B sir was one of my mom’s favourite directors. So, when I wondered where these films were being made, they said these films were being made in Madras. So, I wanted to come down here. When I came here, I found the place to be different from what I saw in films. I wondered how is it that a film made here strikes a chord with audiences there. Then, I realised that when the content is strong, they don’t have barriers.

“I too wanted to make a film that would travel all over the country. With Avane Sriman Narayana (ASN), we are taking our first step. I hope you all encourage us. ASN is like a golden chariot. We assure you that anybody who chooses to ride this chariot will have a rollercoaster ride. They will have a really, fun-filled ride. We have brought this chariot to Chennai. Please take this chariot all over Tamil Nadu. Our film is to release on January 3.”

Dialogue writer K N Vijaya Kumar, who has worked with director SS Rajamouli before working on this film, said Avane Sriman Narayana was about what happens at an imaginary place called Amaravati. “Rakshit Shetty plays the inspector at the police station in this place. What happens when a gang of treasure seekers arrive at Amaravati, hunting for treasure is what the film is about. The film is a complete comedy and has been made like a western classic. It is a film that will leave you all thoroughly entertained,” he said.

Informing that already 30 lakh people had watched the trailer in Tamil, the writer said that the film’s interesting trailer had received a resounding welcome with over 2 crore people from across the country watching and appreciating it.

Actress Shanvi Srivastava said three years of hard work and passion had gone into making this film and thanked everyone for making her a part of the venture.
