The president of actor Vikram and Dhruv’s Fans Association, M Surya Narayanan has clarified that the accident caused by actor Dhruv, who happens to be the son of actor Vikram, in the early hours of Sunday morning was due to a lapse in attention and not due to anything else.

Early this morning, reports emerged that actor Dhruv, the son of one of the top stars of the Tamil film industry, actor Vikram, had been booked under Sections 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code after his car rammed into three stationary autorickshaws in Teynampet.

One person had sustained serious injuries in the accident, the reports claimed and added that he had been hospitalised.

The reports raised the question if the actor had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and claimed that the police were investigating the issue. The reports also pointed out that Dhruv had been granted bail.

It is under these circumstances that Surya Narayanan’s clarification comes.

In a statement, the president of the Vikram Fans Association, said, “There were reports that actor Vikram’s son Dhruv had caused an accident by ramming his car into autos.

“The person who sustained injuries in the accident was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. He has now been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment. We wish to humbly point out that this accident was caused by a lapse in attention and nothing else.”
