Actor Manoj Bharathi booked for drunken driving

The Tamil Nadu police on Friday booked actor Manoj Bharathi, the son of well known Tamil film director Bharthirajaa, for drunken driving.

Sources present on the occasion said that the actor was found drunk during a routine vehicle check that was conducted on Sterling Road.

A fine of Rs 2,500 was imposed on the actor, who was booked under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988.

Manoj, who has acted in a number of Tamil films including Taj Mahal, Kadal Pookal and Alli Arjuna, was driving a BMW car in an inebriated state when the cops caught him.

Sources say the actor was let off after he paid the fine.

Manoj isn’t the only actor to have been booked for drunken driving in recent times. It was only recently that actor Jai was booked for drunken driving after the actor rammed his car into the sidewall of the Adayar flyover on Lattice Bridge Road.
