Actor Nandamuri Harikrishna dies in road mishap!

Well known Telugu actor and senior Telugu Desam Party leader Nandamuri Harikrishna died in a gruesome accident early this morning.

The accident occurred when the Fortuner he was driving, hit a median on the Nalgonda Highway near Narkatpally in Andhra Pradesh.

He was 61.

Police sources said that Harikrishna was driving to Kavali in Nellore district to attend the wedding of a fan, when the mishap occurred.

The actor, who was the fourth son of the founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NTR, was a politburo member of the TDP. He is also the brother-in-law of the present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu.

Sources said that the actor, who was thrown out of the vehicle as a result of the impact, suffered serious head injuries in the accident and was rushed to the Kamineni Medical college and hospital where he was declared dead at 7.30 am. Some of his well known films include Laahiri Laahiri Laahirilo and Seetayya.

Harikrishna has two sons, Nandamuri Kalyanram and Junior NTR, both of whom are among the top stars in the Telugu film industry.
