A court in Angamaly has extended the remand period of actor Dileep, who has been arrested in connection with a case pertaining to the kidnap and sexual assault of a popular south Indian actress, till August 22.
It may be recalled that the actor was arrested on July 10 for allegedly plotting the kidnap and assualt of the actress with whom he reportedly had a difference of opinion.
Police opted for the video conference facility to produce the actor before the court as the actor’s remand period was to end today. Sources close to the actor say that he will be applying for bail again in the High Court but will be represented by senior lawyer Raman Pillai this time.
So far, the actor has applied for bail twice. On both occasions, his pleas for bail have been turned down.
