Director Sasikumar files police complaint against film Financier Anbu Chezhiyan

Director Sasikumar has filed a police complaint against film financier Anbu Chezhiyan, after the director’s close relative and co-producer, Ashok Kumar, allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Valasaravakkam tonight.

Sources close to the director say that the complaint has been filed on the basis of a two page note, allegedly written by Ashok Kumar before his death. In the suicide note that has been written in Tamil, Ashok Kumar is believed to have said that he was left with two options, to murder or to commit suicide and that he was choosing the latter.

In the letter, the co-producer has claimed that he was forced to take the extreme step because of the harrassment meted out to him by a particular film financier from whom he had procured a loan.

“For the last 10 years, we have been able to release all our films on time. The only big sin that we committed is taking a loan from Anbu Chezhiyan. The man, who was charging interest upon interest on the loan we had borrowed for the last seven years, began behaving in a despicable manner six months ago. He threatened to kidnap the women and the elderly people in my home using goons. Whom do I turn for help?,” Ashok Kumar is believed to have written in his alleged suicide note.

Directors Bala, Samudrakani, Karu Pazhaniappan and Ameer were seen accompanying Sasi kumar to lodge a police complaint.

Director Ameer, talking to the media, after lodging a police complaint, said the cops had filed a case under IPC section 306.
