Director weds actress at preview theatre

Director Velu Prabhakaran, who is known for his controversial films including Velu Prabhakaranin Kadhal diary, on Saturday wed the heroine of one of his films, Sherly Das, at the Le Magic Lantern preview theatre in Nungambakkam.

Sixty-year-old Velu Prabhakaran wed 35-year-old Sherly, who had played the female lead in his film Velu Prabhakaranin Kadhal diary, in the presence of journalists who had gathered at the venue for the press show of Velu Prabhakaran’s recent film, Oru Iyakkunarin Kadhal Diary.

The wedding took place at 10.25 am, just minutes before the press show began. The director said that he had known the actress well for over 15 years.
