Horrible accident on Indian 2 set kills 3, leaves 10 injured

A horrible accident on the sets of director Shankar’s upcoming film, Indian 2, featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead, killed at least three people and left over 10 injured.

According to sources, the incident occurred tonight at around 9.30 pm when the unit of the film were busy trying to shoot a stunt sequence. Sources said that a crane crashed, killing three people and injuring over 10 others.

According to sources, one of those killed in the mishap is an assistant director while the other two are helpers. They have been identified as Assistant director Krishna (34), and, Madhu (29) and Chandran (60), from the production unit.

Sources say that Kamal Haasan himself had a lucky escape as the crane fell just metres away from the place that he was standing.

“The crane crashed on the monitor room inside which the director and the actor were supposed to have been sitting. Luckily for them, they were outside discussing the next shot when the mishap occurred,” a source claimed.  Kamal Haasan, sources say, was seen helping those injured.  Actress Kajal Aggarwal too is believed to have been on the sets at the time of  the mishap.

Sources confirm that both the director and the actors are safe. The injured have been rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital for treatment.
