I have always wanted to work with Tony Jaa, says Jason Statham

He is the real deal, he doesn’t use trickery, there is no CGI, there is no wires. He does everything from his training shoes. He can physically do everything you see, which is very rare,” says Statham about Jaa.

One of Hollywood’s top actors Jason Statham has disclosed that he had always wanted to work with actor Tony Jaa.

Statham, who has acted along with a host of top stars including Tony Jaa in the fourth instalment of the immensely popular franchise Expendables, says Jaa is a very special person.

“I have always wanted to work with Tony. He is a very special person, we met in Thailand when we were making a movie over there and I said at some point, we will work together and trust me it’s going to happen. It’s just taken a little longer than anticipated,” says Statham.

Statham, who plays Lee Christmas in the film, observes, “He (Tony Jaa) is an extremely talented individual and you will get to see what he does at his best. You only have to see ‘Ong Bak’ to see his typical great platforms for what he does.

“He is the real deal, he doesn’t use trickery, there is no CGI, there is no wires. He does everything from his training shoes. He can physically do everything you see, which is very rare,” says Statham.

He goes on to add, “I have worked with people that are talented in that area and I have worked with other people in Hollywood that pretty much don’t do anything. So, when you are alongside people that have that gift and that NDA and that humility, they are so humble, its quite surprising to see how proportionate to how greatly talented and how dangerous they are, is how nice they are. For example, Randy Couture is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, but you flip the on button for him and he will pull your legs off. It is great to be around people that can actually, do what they are seen doing on camera. Tony Jaa is the epitome of that.”
