It’s official! Producer Dhananjayan’s BOFTA Media Works is to remake the hit Hindi film Tumhari Sulu in Tamil.
The film is to be directed by Radhamohan and will have actress Jyothika reprising Vidya Balan’s role in Hindi.
Jyothika’s husband, actor Suriya, made the announcement this morning.
He tweeted, “Happy to announce that Director #RadhaMohan and Jo are working together again after #Mozhi Hoping to see the magic repeat. All the best to the entire Team and Producer @dhananjayang sir @BOFTAindia congratulations!”
The film will have Mahesh Mutswami as its cameraman and K L Praveen as its editor.
The original film, which was both a critical and box office success, was about a housewife turning a radio jockey for a late night show.
Sources close to the unit of the Tamil film say that while the film, which is yet to be titled, will retain the soul of the original Hindi film, certain changes to suit the taste of the Tamil audiences will be made.
