Sources present on the occasion say that the actors exchanged warm pleasantries after which Kamal Haasan watched a special screening of the film arranged for him by the film unit at his residence.
It may be recalled that Kamal had come out strongly in support of the Mersal team at a time when the state unit of the BJP was demanding that the makers of the film delete some dialogues on GST and Digital India. Kamal had then taken to Twitter to say that ‘Mersal was certified. Dont re-censor it . Counter criticism with logical response. Dont silence critics. India will shine when it speaks.’
Sources in the industry say that Kamal’s stand and his timely response has warmed the hearts of the filmmakers, who felt a sense of gratitude for the support that was expressed to them.
