PIL seeking withdrawal of Mersal’s Censor Certificate filed
The PIL claims that the film would lead the masses to misunderstand the Centre and its initiatives
A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Madras High Court, urging it to withdraw the Censor certificate granted to the Vijay-starrer Mersal.
The PIL has been filed by an advocate identified as Ashwathaman.
The petitioner claimed that the makers of the film had wrongly portrayed as if taxes were more in India and less in Singapore. The film would make masses misunderstand the Centre and its initiatives, the petitioner in his PIL claimed and urged for revoking the film’s Censor Certificate.
The PIL is expected to come up for hearing shortly.
