Prabhu Solomon begins pre-production work on Kumki 2

Sources close to the director say that Solomon has already finalised the locations for shooting the second part of the film

Director Prabhu Solomon has begun pre-production work on the sequel to his critically-acclaimed, super-hit film, Kumki.

Sources close to the director say that Solomon has already finalised the locations for shooting the second part of the film.

However, it looks like Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon might not be playing the lead in Kumki 2. It may be recalled that this pair had played the lead in Kumki.

Kumki, which is the name given to domesticated elephants that are used to keep rogue elephants at bay and to stop wild elephant herds from straying on to fields, villages and other human habitations, was the debut film of actor Vikram Prabhu, who played a mahout in the flick.

A few days ago, some media houses had reported that actress Shivani, the daughter of actors Dr Rajsekhar and Jeevitha, had been finalised by Prabhu Solomon to play the female lead in his film. However, there appears to be no truth in these reports as the director has confirmed that he is yet to finalise the hero and the heroine of the film.

Says the director,”Everything else is ready. My locations will be special as always. I have finalised them. Only the hero and the heroine have to be finalised. Once I find them, I will begin shooting the film.”
