Simbu to begin Mani Ratnam project in January next year

Simbu will begin his English project with director Gautham Menon in October and his film with Mani Ratnam in January next year

Actor Silambarasan, who commands one of the most loyal fan bases in the Tamil film industry, will begin work on the film being directed by ace director Mani Ratnam in January 2018.

Confirming his information, sources close to the actor said that Simbu would begin work on his English film with director Gautham Menon and cinematographer Santosh Sivan in October.

“As Santosh Sivan sir was busy with Spyder and Gautham Menon sir was busy with Dhurva Natchathiram, Simbu was waiting to start the English project. Now, the dates have been locked. The project commences from October end and will be completed by December,” the source says.

As the project ends in December, Simbu will join Mani Ratnam’s unit in January 2018.

The source further says, “STR, after completing this project by December will move on to Mani Ratnam sir’s multilingual project in which he plays the lead character. With everything that is happening, Simbu is in high spirits and really happy.”
