State awards for Best films from 2009 to 2014 announced!
Here is the list of all those who have won the prestigious award for their work in films.
In what can be termed a pleasant surprise, the Tamil Nadu government has announced the State awards for Films and film technicians for the years 2009-2014, all at one go.
After 2008, the state awards for films were not announced for various reasons. However, last year, Late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had promised that the state would give out the awards in a grand fashion.
True to her promise, the government, late on Thursday, announced the winners under different categories.

2011 – Vaagai Sooda Vaa
2012 – Vazhakku Enn 18/9
2013 – Ramanujan
2014 – Kuttram Kadithal
Best Actor
2009 – Karan (Malayan)
2010 – Vikram (Kanthasamy)
2011 – Vemal (Vaagai Sooda Vaa)
2012 – Jiiva (Neethane En Ponvasantham)
2013 – Arya (Raja Rani)
2014 – Sidharth (Kaaviya Thalaivan)
Best Actress
2009 – Padmapriya (Pokkisham)
2010 – Amala Paul(Mynaa)
