TFPC thanks TN govt for announcing welfare corporation for film industry

The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has expressed its gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government and the Information and Public Relations Department Minister Kadambur Raju for promising to set up a separate welfare corporation.

In a statement, the TFPC said, “There have been no new releases in the Tamil film industry for the last month and work pertaining to all films in the industry have come to a standstill as our protest in the form of a strike continues.

“At this point, Information and Public Relations Department Minister Kadambur Raju has announced that a separate corporation to address the needs of the Tamil film industry will be formed. It may be recalled that one of the long standing demands of the TFPC has been the formation of a Tamil Film Development Corporation. The TFPC and everybody else in the Tamil film industry thank the Information and Public Relations Department Minister Kadambur Raju and the Tamil Nadu government for promising to form such a welfare corporation We hope that the government will fulfill all the other requests made by the Tamil film industry soon.”

The TFPC along with the Film Employees Federation of South India(FEFSI) is to take out a major rally in the city on Wednesday before meeting the Chief Minister with a set of demands pertaining to the Tamil film industry.
