Chennai, December 08 (COIN) Actress Vani Bhojan, who plays the female lead in director R P Bala’s upcoming thriller ‘Love’, has apologised to actor Bharath for having slapped him for real during the shooting of the film.

The film, the first seven minutes of which were screened exclusively for the media on Tuesday by the film unit, is a gripping emotional thriller that revolves around the topic of domestic violence. It is about a husband who is in a quandray after committing a crime inadvertently.

Bharath and Vani Bhojan play a husband and wife in the film, which has music by Ronnie Raphael and cinematography by P G Muthiah.

The film begins with Bharath and Vani Bhojan having a heated argument which eventually spins out of control and turns into a physical fight.

Bharath, who is pummelled by his wife, acts in self defence and rams his wife’s head on a portrait, making her swoon to the ground. What happens then is what the film is all about.

During the course of her speech at the special pre-release event, actress Vani Bhojan said that she suffered so many blows and injuries while shooting for this film that her mother asked her if she was shooting for a film or actually fighting someone.

Actor Bharath, who was seated on stage next to her, interrupted her speech, saying that it was actually he who suffered more as Vani Bhojan had slapped him for real during the fight sequences they shot for the film.

To this, Vani Bhojan said with a smile that it was the director and cinematographer who had asked her to slap him for real as they wanted the quarrelling sequences between the husband and wife to look real. She turned around and apologised to him for having hit him.

The film, which will be Bharath’s 50th film, has caught the attention of critics and has raised expectations.
