The title of Yogi Babu’s upcoming film Veerappanin Gajana is to be changed following a request from the family of forest brigand Veerappan
Sources close to the unit of the film say that the family members of Veerappan requested the film unit not to use Veerappan’s name in the film’s title.
Respecting their sentiments, the unit has decided to change the title of the film to something more catchy.
“The film has nothing to do with Veerappan. In fact, it is a hilarious film which speaks in detail about forests and their wealth. Veerapanin Gajaana is aimed at drawing kids and making elders laugh. So, the unit thought that Veerappan’s family had a very reasonable request and therefore chose to accede to it,” says a source.
Directed by debutant Yaasin, the film has Yogi Babu playing the lead.
“Yogi Babu plays a YouTuber in the film. He is accompanied by Mottai Rajendran to increase the fun factor. The film was primarily shot in scenic locations like Thalakonam, Tenkasi and Nagarcovil. Shooting is done and post-production work has begun,” adds the source.
