‘Actor Vijay does not talk to his dad anymore’

Vijay’s mother and director Chandrasekhar’s wife has now disclosed that Vijay and his father S A Chandrasekhar no longer talk to one another.

Director S A Chandrasekhar’s recent move to start a political party in Tamil Nadu has brought out into the open the strained relationship he has with his son, actor Vijay.

Immediately after S A Chandrasekhar announced that he had started a political party, Vijay wasted no time at all in issuing a clarification in which he made it clear that he had nothing to do with his dad’s party, either directly or indirectly.

What’s more, the leading star also went to the extent of issuing a threat to his dad, saying that if the latter tried to use either his name or pictures for activities of his party, legal action would be initiated.

The statement came as a stunner to many in the Tamil film industry and to fans, many of whom were unaware of the strained relationship between the two.

As if this wasn’t enough, Vijay’s mother and director Chandrasekhar’s wife has now disclosed that Vijay and his father S A Chandrasekhar no longer talk to one another.

In an interview to a television channel, Shobha said, “Vijay’s father S A Chandrasekhar approached me for a signature, saying he wanted to start an association. I signed the document in the belief that it would be an association. One week ago, he asked me for another signature. I refused to sign as I realised then that he was starting a party.

“Despite Vijay asking him not to, he keeps talking about a political party repeatedly. So, Vijay doesn’t speak to his dad.”

When pointed out that the party that S A Chandrasekhar had started had her name as the Treasurer in it, Shobha replied that she had come out of the party and was not associated with it at all.
