Actor Vikram sang a song at the grand reception of his daughter’s wedding, after a number of his fans who were invited for the event requested him to do so.
It may be recalled that the wedding of actor Vikram’s daughter Akshita recently took place in Chennai with Manu Ranjith, the great Grandson of DMK chief M Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residence.
While the wedding was a private event with only close family members and friends of both sides attending it, the reception, which was held recently in the Sangamithra wedding hall in Pattanoor, a place near Pondicherry, was a grand event with several people from all walks of life turning up to congratulate and bless the couple.
Interestingly, Vikram had invited over 3,000 of his fans from all over the country including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
The fans, most of whom went up on stage to greet and congratulate the couple, were delighted with the actor’s move.
On the occasion, they urged him to sing a song for them and responding to their request, Vikram sang the song Oh Butterfly… from his film Meera.
Several celebrities from the political and film industries attended the wedding reception. This included PMK chief Ramadass and Member of Parliament from the DMK Ponmudi.
