I will contest R K Nagar By-poll, says Vishal
Vishal is to contest the polls as an independent candidate and will be filing his nomination papers on Monday
Actor Vishal, who currently holds the most important positions in two of the most powerful bodies governing the Tamil film Industry namely the Tamil Film Producers Council and the South Indian Artistes Association, has announced his decision to contest the upcoming RK Nagar by-polls also.
By this decision, Vishal has made his political aspirations clear.
The actor has said that he will contest the by-polls as an independent candidate.
The actor, who spoke to a television channel, said that he had decided to contest the upcoming RK Nagar by-polls to enter the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
It may be recalled that RK Nagar was the constituency that was represented by late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The actor will file his nomination papers on Monday.
It may be recalled that a number of stars are looking to enter the political set up in Tamil Nadu.
First, there was news that Rajinikanth would be entering politics. Then, Kamal Haasan made it clear that he was already in politics and that he would be launching his own party soon. Now, Vishal has said that he would be contesting the RK Nagar bypoll which is to be held on December 21.
