Lyca postpones Rajini’s 2.0’s release to April 2018!

The team had earlier announced that 2.0, which is being billed as the country’s costliest film, would release on January 25, 2018

Lyca, the producers of Superstar Rajinikanth’s magnum opus, 2.0, have announced that the release of the film is being pushed to April next year.

In a statement to the media that was issued late on Saturday, Lyca’s Creative Director Raju Mahalingam said,”Lyca Productions-Superstar Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar- Shankar magnum opus SciFi action thriller 2.0 (is) to be screened worldwide in April 2018.”

The team had earlier announced that the film would be releasing on January 25, 2018. This had triggered a lot of excitement among fans and film buffs.

The film, which is being directed by ace director Shankar, has music by A R Rahman and also features Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar in the lead.

News doing the rounds in the industry is that the team is looking to release the film on April 27, 2018. However, another set of sources say that the team is also considering the possibility of releasing the film on April 13, 2017.  The date hasn’t been officially announced yet.
