Director Mysskin breathes fire at Vishal; Claims actor called his mother a sex worker!

Director Mysskin has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his exit from the film Thupparivalan 2, which is being produced by actor Vishal.

It may be recalled that Mysskin had walked out of the project and that Vishal, who is playing the lead role in the sequel to the hit film Thupparivalan, had also taken over as the director of the film.

vishal recently released the first look of the film and had also levelled a series of allegations against Mysskin saying that the director had spent Rs 35 lakh just for writing a script and claiming that he had already spent Rs 13 crore for the film. What’s more, the actor also made public a charter of 15 demands that Mysskin had made to resume work as director.

Now, Mysskin has hit back and hit back hard.

Taking part in a function organised to mark the release of a web series called Kannaampoochi on Zee5, Mysskin lashed out at Vishal.

The director said, “It took me a year to think and pen a story.

Every time I write a story, when I write my climax. I suffer heavy bleeding. I suffer Haemerroids. I wrote Thupparivalan 2 like that for a person whom I considered my brother. Even when the whole society considered him bad, I stood shoulder to shoulder with him. I have showered so much love on him as much as I have showered on my real brother.

“In 2018, Thupparivalan 1 released. There was a big strike that was going on in the film industry then. I shot the climax of the film with just three assistant directors. We did not have funds. Therefore, I shot in six hours the climax of the film, which had to be shot in four days. That movie went on to become a huge hit. The three films that Vishal did before that were flops.

“One and a half years later, he came to me and asked me to write another story. I told him, ” You have a lot of debt. I will write a good story and we shall make it for a pan Indian audience. I told him that I would write a story based on the Kohinoor diamond. This story will appeal to even those in Andhra, Karnataka and those in the North. Such a story will entail you to sell it in 15 different regions. A producer called Baapi liked the story so much that he offered to produce it himself. He even gave me an advance for writing this story. It was after that that I narrated the script to Vishal. He hugged me after listening to the story and cried. He told me that this story is enough. I will be able to pay off all my debts with this story.

“Three days later, he returned and said that he wanted to produce the film instead of Baapi. I told him then that the film would cost anywhere between Rs 19 crore to Rs 20 crore. He would not be able to bear the burden as he already had a huge debt. I pointed out that his film Action was to release next and that if that film too flopped, he would have even more pressure coming on to him. I advised him not to take up production of this film. He however insisted that he would be the one to produce this film. I said that in that case, have another producer. Vishal refused to give in. He said,’I will produce this film. Help me out.’

“I then said let us keep this as Thupparivalan 3. I will write another story that can be made on a budget of Rs 10 crore as Thupparivalan 2. He refused to listen. He wanted this to be released as Thupparivalan 2.

“I had to go to the UK to see the location as I could write the script based on the location. I asked for Rs seven and a half lakhs to write the script. I only spent seven lakhs. He has told the media that I spent Rs 35 lakh to just pen the script. He has to prove with evidence that I spent Rs 35 lakh. I am a producer-director. If a person spends Rs 35 lakhs just to write a script, I will say that he is not qualified to direct a film. I can prove with evidence that he spent only 7.5 lakhs. He gave me a forex card and it was in this card that he deposited all the money that he gave me. The media must ask him about this.

“He has claimed in the media that he has spent 13 crores so far. I have completed 32 days. He claims that I have spent Rs 15 lakhs per day. If you multiply 15 by 32, you get a sum of Rs Four crore and 50 lakhs. Add another one and a half crores as my salary. It comes to six crores. Even if you add another four crores just for the heck of it, it still comes to 10 crores. He claims I have spent Rs 13 crores. He has to prove that as well.

“I was insulted in every single place. He abused my mother by calling her a sex worker. What wrong did I do him? He says that no producer must offer me a film. This man, who was born the son of a producer, tells everybody through the media, that they shouldn’t offer me, the son of a tailor, a film. Let me tell him that I can do any work and make my living. I don’t have the need to beg anybody for a film. My films will tell you who I am.

“Raising a series of questions about Vishal’s understanding of the medium of cinema and questioning if whether he has read the works of great authors, Mysskin called Vishal a wastrel. The society knows who are you. You are a wastrel. Tell me who your friends are and I shall tell you who you are. I told him. I told him his friends, Nandaa and Ramanaa will bring him to the streets and that is what happened. They are the reason why this film came to a standstill.

“How can I not walk out of a project when you call my mother a sex worker? They physically assaulted my brother. Why? I asked him, how is it that you want me to take the same salary which I took one and a half years ago. He replied, “Thupparivalan did not succeed.” I said, “In that case, why are you making Thupparivalan 2?” He said, “I’m making it because I like the script.” I then said, “Fine. Pay me Rs 5 crore after my film Psycho succeeds.” Psycho succeeded. Vishal said, “Only you are claiming that the film made money. Psycho did not make money.” I walked out after that. He called me back and I refused to go back. It was at that time that he abused my mother. When my brother protested, he was physically assaulted. Did I raise any of these issues until now? I did not because I called him a brother once. Today, I will not spare him. Vishal, you will not sleep from today. If there is justice on your side, come to war. We shall see who wins this Kurukshetra war!
