More and more actresses are choosing to learn the craft of filmmaking and not confine themselves to just acting on screen.
These actresses don’t mind working as assistant directors on sets to learn the craft.
While Akshara Haasan worked as an assistant director on the sets of Sabaash Naidu, which featured her father Kamal Haasan in the lead, actress Parvathy has made it clear in interviews before that she would love to work as an assistant director to director Anjali Menon.
Now, actress Anupama Parameshwaran seems to be the latest to join this list of actresses who don’t mind living the difficult life of an assistant director.
Anupama, who has acted in several Malayalam and Tamil films including Premam and Dhanush’s Kodi, is now working as an assistant director to director Shamzu Zayba who is directing the Malayalam film, Ashokante Adhyarathri.
Taking to social media to make the announcement, Anupama said, ““A new beginning. Assisting this new talent @shamzu_zayba in @dqsalmaan ‘s new production venture… can’t be more excited, happy and blessed totally in love with this amazing team ♥️and how the movie is shaping up… 🏻 a lot more to share and will update soon… need ur blessings and love”
The film will have Jacob Gregory, Nikhila Vimal and Anu Sithara playing the lead. Interestingly, this is Dulquer Salman’s first production.
