Anybody against corruption is my relative, says Kamal Haasan

Actor Kamal Haasan and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejiriwal have indicated that there will be more meetings in the future as well…

Actor Kamal Haasan has said that anybody who is against corruption becomes his relative and that way, his relationship with the Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejiriwal continues.

Kamal made this statement after meeting the Delhi Chief Minister, who flew to Chennai to call on him at his residence in Alwarpet.

Arvind Kejiriwal, who arrived by flight at the Meenambakkam airport in Chennai, was received by Akshara Haasan, Kamal’s younger daughter. The Delhi Chief Minister then arrived at Kamal’s residence by around 2.15 in the afternoon and the two held talks for about an hour with the Aam Aadmi party chief extending an invitation to the actor to join in fighting corruption.

Both Kejriwal and Kamal Haasan chose to jointly address a press conference after their meeting.

Speaking at the conference, Kamal said, “I consider his (Kejiriwal’s) desire to come and meet me itself as my fortune. You may well be able to guess what it is that we may have talked about. The truth is that anybody who is against corruption becomes my relative. That way, this relationship continues.

“I am honoured that the CM of Delhi decided to visit my abode. This house has been political since my father’s time. I was the one who was away from it. The reason why we got together is the purpose. The purpose has always been singular. I have always been that and he has a great national profile in that – of fighting against corruption and communalism. So, I also have a reputation, similar to that and it is no wonder that we decided to have a dialogue on the existing situation. It is more a learning curve for me than whatever purpose he came to visit me for. I am on an educational tour asking anybody who is fighting communalism and corruption to give me advice to go about my endeavour.”
