Balloon producers file complaint against actor Jai in Producers’ Council

The producers are demanding a compensation of Rs 1.50 crore from the actor for the losses they incurred as a result of the delay in releasing the film…

The producers of the film, Balloon, which released only recently, have lodged an official complaint against actor Jai, who played the lead in the film, with the Producers’ Council.

In their complaint, Nandakumar and Arun Balaji, the producers of the film, sought action against Jai for being non-cooperative in general and irregular to work in particular, thereby delaying the film’s release.

They sought a compensation of Rs 1.50 crore for the losses that they have incurred as a result of the delay in releasing the film.

“We began work on our film Balloon in June, 2016 and we intended to release it in January, 2017. However, we were forced to push the release of the film to December, 2107 because of actor Jai,” the producers said.

The producers claimed that Jai never assigned proper dates to them and that he often did not turn up for shooting. In short, he did not extend proper co-operation, they alleged.

“As a result, we had to push the film’s release to September. Even at that point, Jai did not come even for dubbing and caused us a lot of problems. With no other option, we had to push the film’s release to December. As a result, we have had to incur losses of Rs 1.50 crore because of him. We request you to initiate action to ensure that Jai compensates us for this loss immediately. We believe that the producer council will speak for us in this issue and help us,” they appealed.

The producers urged the producer council not to allow Jai to act in any other film before resolving this issue. “This is a request that is being kept, keeping in mind the welfare of all the producers, who, like us, are making films with him as the hero,” the producers said in their complaint.
