Indian 2 team presents cheques worth Rs 4 crore to families of those affected by EVP accident

Kamal, Shankar present cheques of Rs 1 crore each to the families of those killed in EVP MIshap

The team of Indian 2, directed by Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan in the lead, on Thursday presented financial aid to the next of kin of those who had either been injured or killed in the terrible mishap that had occurred at EVP Film City on February 19 this year.

The terrible accident, caused by a crane crash at the EVP Film City, had left three people dead and 10 people injured.

While Lyca Productions, the production house presented a cheque for Rs Two crores, director Shankar and actor Kamal Haasan presented cheques for Rs One crore each.

A sum of Rs One crore each was paid to the next of kin of those killed. From the remaining one crore, a sum of Rs 90 lakhs was paid to lightman Ramarajan who had sustained serious injuries in the mishap. The remaining 10 lakhs was divided between those others who had sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Production assistant S R Chandran’s wife Radha, Madhu’s father Mala Kondaiah and assistant director Krishna’s wife Amitha received cheques for Rs One crore each.

The cheque of lightman Ramarajan was received by his sister.

The event took place at office premises of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI)
