Is Trisha a part of Saamy Square or not?
Trisha says she is out of the project while the team claims that she is still a part of Saamy 2 which is officially called Saamy Square.
Confusion prevails over whether actress Trisha will be a part of the Vikram-starrer Saamy Square, the sequel to the blockbuster by the same name.
Saamy (2003), directed by Hari, featuring Vikram and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles was a hit at the box office. Recently news of director Hari planning a sequel made rounds. The lead actors were to be retained and Keerthy Suresh was also roped in.
The team shot for the film in Delhi, Chennai and Ooty for a while before Trisha suddenly announced that she was opting out of the project due to creative differences. “Due to creative differences, I have chosen to opt out of Saamy Square. Wishing the team goodluck,” she had tweeted.
However, soon after, a complaint was lodged against the actress with the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. Reports began doing the rounds that it had been emphasised on Shibu Thameem’s behalf that Trisha would have to pay compensation, if she chose not to act in the film.
Under these circumstances, director Hari, recently met mediapersons in Tirunelveli. During interactions, he said that Trisha was a part of Saamy Square and that she was playing an important role in the film.
Trisha’s side, however, seems to have reiterated that she is no longer a part of the film.
Sources close to the unit of the film say that the unit of the film is busy shooting sequences pertaining to Vikram and Keerthy Suresh for the moment. It is unclear if Trisha is a part of the project or if she indeed has opted out.
