J J Fredrick, the man who was to direct Andhaghan, the Tamil remake of the Hindi superhit, Andhadhun, has walked out of the film on the very first day of its shoot.
The film, which features Prashanth and Simran in the lead, will now be directed by Prashanth’s father Thyagarajan, whose firm, Staar movies, is producing the film.
Confirming his decision to walk out of the film, J J Fredrick, in a statement issued just a few minutes ago, said, “This is to inform you all that I am not directing the film Andhaghan. Best wishes to the team. Thank you all for your support and love. Will keep you posted about my next project very soon.”
Sources close to the unit of the film say that the director decided to walk out of the project after disagreements erupted between him and the film’s producer. Interestingly, the film went on the floors only this morning.
Apart from Prashanth and Simran, Andhaghan will also feature Karthik, Yogi Babu, Oorvasi, K.S.Ravikumar, Manobala, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Leena Samson, Semmalar and Poovaiyaar.
Andhadhun, which featured Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead in Hindi, was a black comedy crime thriller that worked big time at the box office. It was directed by Sriram Raghavan and was based on the L’accordeur(The Piano Tuner).
