Director Venkat Prabhu’s mother passes away!
Manimegalai Gangai Amaran, the wife of music director Gangai Amaran, and the mother of director Venkat Prabhu and actor Premgi Amaran, died
Manimegalai Gangai Amaran, the wife of well known music director Gangai Amaran, and the mother of director Venkat Prabhu and actor Premgi Amaran, passed away last night at a city hospital.
She was 69.
She passed away on a day the world was celebrating as Mothers’ Day.
Sources close to the director say that Manimegalai was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for health issues. She had been undergoing treatment for almost a week.
She passed away at around 11.10 pm last night.
Several people from the Tamil film industry have been expressing their condolences to music director Gangai Amaran and his family.
