A court in Chennai has issued a non bailable arrest warrant against actor Jai for failing to appear before it in a case pertaining to druken driving.
The actor, on September 21, was arrested by the police after he rammed his car into a median on the Adyar Flyover. He was let off on bail. He was booked under Section 185 (driving by a drunken person) of the Motor Vehicles Act and IPC 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way).
Police sources said that the accident occurred when the actor and his friends, including actor Premgi, were returning home after attending a late night party in a five-star hotel.
Meanwhile, the case filed against him came up for hearing on October 5. As the actor failed to appear before the court, a non-bailable warrant of arrest was issued against the actor.
