Rajini lambasts AIADMK cadres protest against Sarkar
Even as confusion reigned supreme on why the police had gone to director A R Murugadoss’s residence with one side claiming it was to arrest the director and another side claiming it was to offer protection to him in the wake of protests that had broken out against his film Sarkar, Superstar Rajinikanth joined issue by strongly condemning the protests by the AIADMK cadre against the film.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Staging protests demanding scenes be deleted from a film, stalling its screenings and damaging its banners after it has duly been censored by a Censor Board and released is against the law. I very strongly condemn such activities.”
Rajini wasn’t the only one to condemn the wild protests of the cadre belonging to the ruling AIADMK party.
Actor Kamal Haasan too had issued a statement earlier in the evening condemning the protests.
Kamal had tweeted, “It is not new for this government to exert pressure on the Sarkar team through illegal political scheming. A government which does not have the courage to face criticism will derail. The group of political businessmen will soon disappear. The good group which is to rule the state will win.”
