Young Tamil actor and cameraman Shaman Mithru passed away early this morning, after battling Covid for over a month.
Young Tamil actor and cameraman Shaman Mithru passed away early this morning, after battling Covid for over a month.
He was just 43.
Mithru, who was admitted to a hospital where he was receiving treatment for Covid for over a month, passed away at the Nila Hospital in Chromepet at 6 this morning.
He is survived by his wife Shakuntala and a five-year-old daughter called Moksha.
A gold medalist from the Chennai Film Institute, Mithru has worked in several Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films as a cinematographer.
However, he wanted to make a mark as an actor and chose to produce Thorati, a film in which he played the lead himself.
The film came in for appreciation from critics and he was well on his way to making his second film when he fell prey to the pandemic.
