Director Shankar’s daughter to wed cricketer Rohit on Sunday

The wedding of Aishwarya Shankar, the eldest daughter of director Shankar, is to take place with cricketer Rohit in Mahabalipuram on June 27.

Sources close to director Shankar say that the wedding will be a simple affair with only very close family members being present on the occasion.

“Director Shankar has planned the wedding to be a very simple affair in view of the Covid crisis that has left the world reeling. Once the pandemic is under control and the government lifts the restrictions, he hopes to host a reception to which friends from the industry will be invited,” says a source close to the director.

Director Shankar has two daughters and a son. Aishwarya, who happens to be Shankar’s eldest daughter, is a doctor by profession.

She will wed Rohith, a cricketer, who captained Pondicherry’s cricket team in the Ranji Trophy.

Interestingly, Rohith is the son of well known industrialist Damodaran, who owns the Madurai Panthers Cricket team.
