Vikram tops list of Tamil actors contributing to Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund

At a time when Kerala is combating its worst flood crisis, those from the Tamil and Telugu film industries have been making an effort to go to its aid. In fact, several stars have been making generous contributions.

Apart from Vikram, a number of stars from the Tamil film industry have already made huge contributions to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. These include Vijay Sethupathi (Rs 25 lakhs), Kamal Haasan (Rs 25 lakhs), Suriya and Karthi (Rs 25 lakhs), Rajinikanth (Rs 15 lakhs), Dhanush (Rs 15 lakhs), Vishal (Rs 10 lakhs), Siddharth (Rs 10 lakhs), Nayanthara (10 lakhs), Udhayanidhi Stalin (10 lakhs), Sivakarthikeyan (10 lakhs), Arulnidhi (Rs 5 lakhs), Director Shankar (Rs10 lakhs), Rohini (2 lakhs), Karunkaran (1 lakh).

Stars from the Telugu film industry too have been making generous contributions to the Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund. Actor Nagarujuna’s family made a contribution of Rs 28 lakhs, Prabhas (Rs 25 lakh), Junior NTR (25 lakhs), Chiranjeevi (25 lakhs), Ram Charan (Rs 25 lakhs), Ram Charan’s wife ( Rs 10 lakh), Chiranjeevi’s mother (1 lakh).

Vikram’s Manager Suryanarayanan, along with Vikram’s publicist Yuvaraj, met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan personally on Sunday and handed him a cheque for the sum, along with a letter from the actor that read, “It is a humble contribution that we offer to assauge the colossal anguish of the people of Kerala. Our prayers are continuously offered to bring normalcy back to the people of the Kerala state. I am enclosing herewith a cheque bearing No: 656936(IOB, Besant Nagar Branch, Chennai) for Rs 35,00,000 towards my contribution to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (Kerala State).”
