Actor Dileep, who was arrested in the actress kidnap and harrassment case, has been remanded to 15 days judicial custody

Actor Dileep, who was arrested in connection with the sensational actress kidnap and harrassment case, was today produced before a magistrate in Angamaly by the Kerala police.

Police sources said that he had been remanded to 15 days judicial custody and that he has been lodged in a jail in Aluva.

Sources pointed out that the Magistrate had not ordered any special facilities to be provided to Dileep in the prison.

The actor has been charged under section 120 (B) of the IPC. It may be recalled that at one point, Dileep had gone on to say that he was even ready for a narco analysis test to prove his innocence and had claimed that he had nothing to do with the incident in which a popular south Indian actress was kidnapped and harrassed a few months ago. The incident had sent shock waves across Kerala.

Police sources say that they have solid evidence to prove Dileep’s involvement in the crime. Sources say that in fact, the police believe Dileep to be the main conspirator in the incident. Based on information provided by Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the case, police decided to question Dileep and his friend Nadir Shah. The two were questioned for almost 13 hours last month.

Sources close to Dileep say that a bail petition has been moved on behalf of the actor. It is likely to come up for hearing tomorrow.
