Debutant director Jayaseelan had recently announced that he would be making a biopic on athlete Shanthi Soundarajan, whose silver medal at the 2006 Doha Asian Games was snatched away from her on the pretext of the athelete having failed a gender test.
The news about the biopic caused a lot of excitement among fans of Tamil cinema, who are eager to know who will be playing the lead in this sports film.
In an interview to an English daily, the director had claimed that he had shortlisted three actresses who resembled the athelete and that he would finalise one to play the lead in his sports film shortly.
However, as always, rumour mongers put out a rumour on social media that actress Aishwarya Rajesh, who has been delivering exceptional hits including Kanaa in which she plays a cricketer, was to play the role of Shanthi in the biopic.
Sources close to the actress have confirmed to Cineobserver.in that there is no truth in such claims or reports and that the actress will not be playing the lead in the film.
