Joker director Raju Murugan’s brother Kumaragurubaran succumbs to Covid 19

Kumaragurubaran, the brother of National Award winning director Raju Murugan, passed away on Tuesday after battling Covid.

Kumaragurubaran, better known as Guru to friends and colleagues, was a programme producer for the News 18 group.

A soft-spoken person known for his dedication in the media industry, Guru has also made guest appearances in films directed by his brother Raju Murugan, known for having made critically acclaimed films like Joker.

Guru had been admitted to a private hospital in the city, where he was receiving treatment for Covid 19. He passed away after fighting a long and hard battle against the dreaded virus.

Friends from the media industry are in a state of shock and have been expressing their condolences.
