Ajith contributes 25 lakh to TN CM’s Relief fund

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth contributed a sum of Rs one crore to the TN CM Relief fund, even as actor Ajith made a contribution of Rs 25 lakh

Tamil actor Ajith Kumar made a contribution of Rs 25 lakh to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the Tamil Nadu government fight the second wave of the Covid Pandemic that has thrown life out of gear in the state.

Actor Ajith Kumar transferred the sum of Rs 25 lakh through the RTGS facility.

Initially, there was confusion over the amount that Ajith Kumar had contributed, thanks to an official statement from the Tamil Nadu government claiming that the actor had made a contribution of Rs 2.5 crore.

However, a clarification from the actor’s side made it clear that he had only contributed Rs 25 lakh and not Rs 2.5 crore.

Tamil film actors have been making contributions to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund following an appeal from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for funds to fight the pandemic.

Yesterday, Director A R Murugadoss had contributed a sum of Rs 25 lakhs, while actor Sivakumar’s family, comprising his sons Suriya and Karthi, donated a sum of Rs One crore.

Actor Udhayanidhi too had contributed a sum of Rs 25 lakhs for the cause.
