Rajinikanth’s ‘Baba’ gears up for re-release

Director Suresh Krishna's 'Baba', featuring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, is now all set to be re-released

Chennai, Nov 21 (COIN) Director Suresh Krishna’s ‘Baba’, featuring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, is now all set to be re-released.

The film, which was first released in 2002, had actor Rajinikanth himself producing it. What’s more, Rajini wrote the film’s story and screenplay himself.

Manisha Koirala played the female lead, while Goundamani, Delhi Ganesh, Sujatha, MN Nambiar Ashish Vidyarthi, Sayaji Shinde, Sangavi, Karunaas and others formed the supporting cast. Riyaz Khan played a pivotal role.

AR Rahman composed the music for this film which had songs choreographed by Brinda, Prabhu Deva and Lawrence. The film created a big buzz but failed to get the cash registers ringing.

Now, the film is gearing up for a second run. This time around, the makers have re-edited the film and opted for a new look. Every frame has been digitally enhanced with state-of-the-art color grading.

The songs of the film ‘Maya Maya’, ‘Shakti Kodu’ and ‘Kichu Kichu’ have been remixed and re-mastered to Dolby Mix sound. The sound effects and the re-recording have also been retouched to enrich the dynamics.
