Tamil actor Napoleon makes Hollywood debut!

Napoleon plays a museum curator in the film titled Devil’s Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge.

Tamil actor Napoleon Duraisamy, who has acted in over a 100 films, has made his debut in Hollywood with Devil’s Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge.

Directed by Sam Logan Khalegi, the film has Jesi Jensen playing a cop. The women-centric, 90-minute crime/supernatural thriller, will have Napoleon playing a museum curator. The film is to be dubbed in Tamil and released here in India after its release in the US, next year.

Shot in the US, the film, which has Istvan Lettang as its cinematographer, also features Devan Ekamabaram, who has worked as a music director and an actor in many Tamil films.

Giving details of the film and how he became a part of it, Napoleon said, “The film is set in Detroit and is produced by Tel K Ganesan. Ganesan is a friend who is from my hometown and he wanted me to play a role in this film. I was initially scared but the producer gave me confidence and asked me to be a part of it. I told him my accent might be a problem but he was positive. That was how I became a part of this project. Hollywood films have live recording as opposed to Tamil films, for which we have to dub. So, it was a learning experience for me as well.”

The actor, who was also a Union Minister in the Manmohan Singh cabinet, said that he would continue acting in Hollywood films, if he had the support of the audiences. Napoleon, who migrated to the US a few years ago, said, “Already, I am in talks for another Hollywood film after this one.”
