One of Tamil cinema’s most expected films this year is director Shankar’s Indian 2.

Fans are eager to watch Kamal Haasan return as the grand old man, known for weeding out corruption by mercilessly killing corrupt people.

However, with the way things are progressing, it looks like they might have to wait for a considerable amount of time before the film hits screens.

Yes, shooting for the film, which is a sequel to the blockbuster by the same name, has come to a grinding halt.

Sources close to the unit say that this is because Kamal Haasan has undergone a surgery in his leg and has been advised rest by doctors.

The sources hint that shooting is likely to resume only next month, when the actor recovers.

The film has been taking more time than it should for various reasons. It may be recalled that Kamal Haasan announced the project during the last season of Bigg Boss.

Although work began, shooting progressed at a slow pace as Kamal Haasan had intensified his political activities.

To add to problems, Kamal Haasan’s look as the old man wasn’t convincing enough. Therefore, shooting was halted. It resumed after make-up artists from abroad were brought in.

The unit members are hopeful that once shooting begins next month, the portions will be completed swiftly.
