‘Did not pressurise govt to appoint special officer to Nadigar Sangam’
The battle to gain control of the South Indian Artistes Association better known as the Nadigar Sangam continues to rage on.
While on the one side, the team led by Vishal and Nasser has gone to court to challenge the state government’s decision of appointing a Special Officer for the Nadigar Sangam to take care of its affairs until all the issues pertaining to the election of its next set of office bearers are resolved, their opponent team led by producer Ishari Ganesh today clarified that they had nothing to do with the State Government’s decision and that they had not exerted any pressure on the government to effect the move.
Talking to reporters after participating in an event in Pondicherry to mark the Memorial Day of one of the pioneers of Tamil theatre Sankaradas Swamigal, Ishari Ganesh said, “Our only complaint is that rules were violated during the Nadigar Sangam elections. I have nothing to do with the appointment of the Special Officer to the Nadigar Sangam. We will accept the verdict of the court on the elections to the Nadigar Sangam, irrespective of what it is.”
The powerful producer, who also happens to head a big educational institution, said that all problems pertaining to the release of the Gautham Menon film, Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta had been resolved and that the film would definitely hit screens on November 29.
