Oops! Shobha De tweets wrong pic of Chiru in condolence tweet!

Celebrity columnist Shobha De has landed herself in hot water after she tweeted a wrong picture while condoling the death of Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja.

Shobha De, in her tweet, which now appears to have been deleted, put out Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi Konidela’s picture instead of Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, who died of a heart attack yesterday in Bangalore.

She wrote, “One more shining star… gone! Just like that… What a tragic loss! Condolences to the bereaved family members. @chirusarja”

Twitterati did not take to her faux pas kindly with several lashing out at the celebrity, asking her to make an effort to either get to know what she was talking about or to stay silent.

One person said, “Dear Bollywood celebrities/Whatever, If you don’t know our actors, then please don’t tweet. Simple!!!

A simple Google search goes a long way in covering your stupidity.”

Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja’s death came as a rude shock to several people in the southern film industries. The young actor, who was just 39, had only gotten married to Meghana Raj in 2018.
